Applying for a visa to Argentina (TRANSITORY VISA)

If you intend to travel to Argentina please check this website to find out if you need a visa, according to the country issuing your passport.

If you need a visa, please write an e-mail in English or Spanish to chong@mrecic.gov.ar or requesting an interview date;  attaching the following documentation:

1. Complete application form (see below word file). All fields must be completed, without exception. For fields that are not applicable please write n/a or cross out.
2. Copy of valid passport (6 months validity from the date of departure). The original document must be presented on the day of the interview.
3. Copy of valid local (Hong Kong / Macau / other) ID.
4. One photograph with white background (size 4 x 4cm)
5. Proof of current occupation/activity: employment letter with bank endorsement or with Human resources endorsement or bring the company registration, school/university letter, etc.
6. For tourist visas:
   1. Round trip flight reservation with your name.
   2. Hotel reservation/s in Argentina for the whole period, matching the dates and name of the above. If staying at friends or relatives, invitation letter certified by Argentine Public Notary or processed through the online platform Trámites a Distancia.
   3. Proof of financial capability according to the intended trip.
7. For business / scientist / professional / technical / fair, congress & exhibition visa applicants:
   1. Invitation letter from an inviting company in Argentina, certified by Argentine Public Notary or processed through the online platform Trámites a Distancia.
   2. The inviting company must prove inscription in RENURE.

When we receive your application form and all the required documentation, we will assign a date to you for having a personal interview at our Consulate. On that occassion, please remember to bring the original documents corresponding to the scanned e-mail copies. If your passport has been issued recently, it is advisable -though not mandatory- to bring your old passport if possible.

The Consulate strongly encourages applicants to apply at least 45 days in advance of their proposed journey and to refrain from making irrevocable travel plans until the visa has been issued.

Fees are to be settled in cash for deposit or online transfer on the date of interview.

Fee for tourist visa: HK$1170.  After the interview, processing time for the visa will be two working dates.
Fee for business visa: HK$1560. After the interview, processing time for the visa will be two working dates.

• If your type of visa belongs to a TEMPORARY (such as employmemt, study,) you MUST APPLY at your place of residence. If you do not have Hong Kong nor Macao identity card, we ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT THIS APPLICATION.

• If your type of visa belongs to a PERMANENT visa (such as family reunion),you MUST APPLY at your place of residence. If you do not have Hong Kong nor Macao identity card, we ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT THIS APPLICATION.
